Digital gaming supplier, NYX Gaming Group, soft-launched a selection of their slots games on the PokerStars New Jersey site yesterday, and after receiving approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, operations in the Garden State went live as well at https://www.pokerstarsnj.com/, providing players with a full suite of poker and casino games.
NYX Gaming said in yesterday’s announcement that the roll-out was the first in a series of such releases, where New Jersey-based players would be given access to slots titles developed by NextGen, the supplier’s proprietary studio.
NYX Gaming’s CEO, Matt Davey, commented on the announcement saying, “It’s great to see PokerStars launching in New Jersey launching with over 20 titles from our studio NextGen. This is part of the six-year licensing agreement with Amaya that we signed in Q3 2015 which includes a minimum annual payment of CAD$12.0 million to NYX for the first three years,” as reported by PR Newswire.
Serving the global poker community, the world’s most popular online poker sites are operated by PokerStars. The brand has become the biggest online poker site since its launch in 2001, with local approvals and licenses to offer services to game players in many jurisdictions. Following five days of supervised test play, Monday’s full launch marked the Internet poker giant’s much-anticipated re-emergence after it stopped doing business in the U.S. in 2011. PokerStars is partnered with Resorts Casino Hotel and is New jersey’s 18th Internet gambling site.
Stellar titles such as DC Comics’ King Kong – Island of Skull Mountain and An Evening with Holly Madison, Judge Dredd, and Irish Eyes 2 are included in the initial roll-out, with more to come on the PokerStars New Jersey website in the months ahead.
